Contracts Manager

Contracts Manager. An Avonmouth flooring firm are looking for a Contracts Manager to join the team. The Contracts Manager will plan and organise various sized house build flooring contracts, ensuring delivery to meet customers’ needs from time of order to completion, ensuring that all health and safety needs and material and labour requirements are met in an efficient manner.

The Contracts Manager key responsibilities include:

Fitters

1. Distribute job packs and collect finished packs ,supervise the loading of vans 
2. Ensure daily that there is the right level of fitters and arrange or rearrange fitters to ensure minimum fitter down-time
3. Monitor the level of upcoming work and adjust fitter levels accordingly
4. Actively recruit new fitters and trainees, participating in selection and interviews
5. Induct new fitters and ensure they have the equipment, transport and PPE they require 
6. Check installed flooring to ensure it reaches company quality standards
7. Monitor fitting standards, identifying fitters requiring training
8. Ensure fitters are complying with are strict Health & Safety standards
9. Line management responsibilities of fitting teams 

Sites

1. Visit sites to build relationships with site managers 
2. Check readiness of plots and liaise with site agents and account manager 
3. Carry out and accurately produce site measurements 
4. Carry out site surveys to ensure the plots are ready for are arrival 
5. Respond to rapidly changing site conditions to ensure the smooth running of the jobs and manage access and health & safety issues 
6. Answer fitters’ questions and find solutions to allow work to continue 

Customer Care

1. Liaise with householders and site agents to find solutions to customer problems 
2. Visit customers’ houses and prepare remedial reports 
3. Any other duty reasonably asked of you by your line manager

The Contracts Manager will need:

1. Contracts Management experience
2. Ability to work under pressure
3. A sound commercial approach to problems and solving them
4. Proficient in IT
5. Proven track record within domestic flooring / construction would be desirable
6. Be able to communicate with a wide variety of people
7. Driving licence is essential

The Contracts Manager salary is £30-35k plus bonus, plus cash back health plan, plus use of a vehicle for work only
