Lean Engineer

Master Lean Practitioner / Lean Engineer. A Newport based electronics engineering manufacturer are looking for a Master Lean Practitioner / Lean Engineer. The Lean Engineer will work across the operations teams driving the transformation of the site towards a lean executional model. Key areas of focus will be leveraging the company Lean principles and deploying across site, defining optimum layout for production flow and material supply . The lean engineer will also provide industrial engineering focus around standards and ensure Lean Principles are deployed in conjunction with the site leadership. This is a hands-on role that will require someone to drive the necessary changes in conjunction with the site teams. The Lean Engineer responsibilities include: • Define optimum layout for production cells and drive the change, ensuring value stream mapping is deployed to remove waste in all areas • Establish work measurement programmes to define standards/TACKT time to maximise production efficiency • Deploy and coach the lean principles, helping to drive the lean transformation • Establish a governance model to ensure compliance to 6S and control mechanisms across all production cells and supporting teams • Continually drive the lean agenda and a continuous improvement culture The Lean Engineer will need: • Industrial Engineering background with a degree from an accredited University(Or Equivalent) • Demonstrated Lean experience, and an ability to deliver change within a busy production environment • Experience of Kaizen, 5S/6S, Value Stream Mapping and flow line • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage at all levels • Experience of 6 Sigma (Black Belt) would be advantageous but not essential

The Master Lean Practitioner / Lean Engineer salary is £45-50k + benefits
